Yikes, I knew the animation looked bad, and the Happy Meal toys looked horrendous, and the animated-style action figures had their problems, but I still took for granted that the movie would be good. ReplyDeleteI caught a screening at the Lucasfilm campus here in SF last week and--while my vitriol doesn't know the extremes of Harry's--I did not like it. The action scenes are pretty sweet (as long as you can ignore the wooden faces of the humanoid characters), but not enough so to outweigh the laughable insults that are Ahsoka (the new Jedi) and Jabba's effeminate, transvestite uncle.
I was thinking of taking my three-year-old, who really liked Wall-E. How scary is it?

ReplyDeleteNot scary. Goofy and ridiculous. Made for kids. Although it's a little violent, for a cartoon. Stormtrooper's helmets getting shot off and such.
