How could Michael Phelps possibly eat this much in one sitting?

Supposedly for breakfast he eats "Three sandwiches of fried eggs, cheese, lettuce, tomato, fried onions and mayonnaise, add one omelet, a bowl of grits, and three slices of french toast with powdered sugar, then wash down with three chocolate chip pancakes."

Physically, where does all that food go? Does his stomach become distended?

  1. Have you SEEN him SWIM? That dude practically has rockets attached to his feet. Clearly he burns through that food like the Flash does.

  2. Oh, I understand he eventually, quickly burns it off. But there's some time period before he starts to exercise.

    He's totally shredded so how does his stomach stretch to hold all that food? Does he develop a bulge?

  3. He said on an interview the other day that he is supposed to eat 8 - 10,000 calories a day!
