Sailors enjoying their big cannon (link roundup)

An unintentionally hilarious photo of Australian sailors enjoying a very big cannon.

And a few more links:

1. My blogging doppelganger gives a long interview in which he explains how he blogs. His secret: "Nerdcore is one of the sites on the net, which I very much would like to read." Or in German, "Nerdcore ist eine der Seiten im Netz, die ich sehr gerne lesen würde." UPDATE: Rene says the Google translation of the interview is only marginally accurate.

2. Photo of Amanda Visell's new girl scout-devouring dragon vinyl toy with packaging.

3. This NY Times reviewer seems awfully irritated that she had to review the new Hannah Montana movie. Via.

4. Darth Maul Easter egg.

*Previously: Ad for historic British dockyard unintentionally portrays historic British sodomy.

*Buy Amanda Visell toys at eBay.

  1. I love Nerdcore as well and all I have to say is thank goodness for Google Translate. It gets about 80% of the words but that combined with his english use is enough to enjoy his site almost as if it's in english.

His interview about blogging was as helpful as your 2 year anniversary post.

  2. "Blogging Doppelganger", I like that ;)

@ Pip: Thank you! But don't trust Software-Translations. I checked the Interview thanks to the Link provided by Superpunch and there are so many Spots where they not only translated wrong, but this also lead to whole different point of views.

Anyways, I always find it absolutely awesome to get in touch with international readers and I love the idea, that the web is more about what brings us together (like ideas or memes or links to both) and not so much about stuff that divides (like language). Thanks for that experience.

  3. "This NY Times reviewer seems awfully irritated......" Because she did the review in teen speak - or pre-teen speak I suppose? Didn't seem irritated to me; kind of cute actually.
