Gorillas with laser beams? (link roundup)

Rockstar has posted a series of "battle" desktop wallpapers featuring gorillas that shoot laser beams, and bears that breathe fire. Via these sites.

And a few more links:

1. Weird to see The Consumerist calling long receipts with coupons "waste." My wife is a coupon ninja and works magic with coupons (she's honed her craft by studying various sites). She's thrilled when she gets such coupons.

2. Nick Gillespie, writing for Reason, says the National Endowment for the Arts is contacting artists and encouraging them to create art in support of the White House's agenda.

3. Squid ink recipes: Black Clams Casino, Spicy Black Risotto with Calamari, and Crab Ravioli with Black Brown Butter and Tarragon.

*Previously: Lamb with freaking laser beams.

*Buy laser guns at eBay.

  1. The NEA's contacting of artists to support the White House has gone eerily unnoticed in light of the White House's OTHER campaign to broadcast to public school students:

The debacle definitely has an Orwellian flavor to it. The Bush administration's ventures into such forays were met with resounding opposition and screams of fascism, but the tactics of our current administration seem to go largely unnoticed save for a few watchdogs.

  2. I saw that, but it definitely got lots of coverage, and I believe that the White House has changed the program.

  3. My wife is also a coupon ninja and will wear the extravagently long reciepts as a sash of honor as if she's won the coupon olympics.
