The wettest, happiest place on Earth

Here's what we did in a day at Disneyland:

Haunted Mansion (Nightmare Before Christmas version)
Jungle Cruise (my youngest's favorite)
It's a Small World
Honey I Shrunk the Audience
Star Tours x3 (my oldest's second favorite)
Buzz Lightyear x5 (my oldest's favorite) (if only the same interactivity could be applied to It's a Small World)

We also learned that Disneyland is not remotely equipped for rain. Many rides were knocked out of commission for extended periods due to "power surges" and other unexplained malfunctions. Every ride that was even briefly exposed to the elements filled up with water like a bathtub. And huge shoe-soaking puddles lurked everywhere.

Still, fun trip. First time my boys were old enough to really enjoy the rides.

  1. Just an FYI, it is possible to ride every ride in Disneyland in one day, depending on conditions.

Also, if you have the dream of having the whole park to yourself, try Eurodisney in January. There were times there were no other guests in my field of vision, while I was standing in central places in the park.

  2. I was there the same day! Luckily we had ponchos, and the cold wasn't too bad. We went over to California Adventure and the wait time on Toy Story Midway Mania was 5 minutes! It's a Small World had boats FULL of water, so we sat crossed legged on the seats.

  3. Yes, It's a Small World was the worst. I keep hearing that the new Toy Story ride is the best attraction.
