Music beg/giveaway

UPDATE: Kyle and Doc No! were randomly selected and have been contacted. Thanks everyone.

I'm desperately in need of new music. So, let's have a contest. Post in the comments the title and artist of two relatively recent songs you really like. Include your email so I can contact you if you win.

Songs I've liked lately:

"Put It Back Down" and "Spectacular" by Seymour Bits
"Bang Bang Bang" by Mark Ronson
"Indestructible" by Robyn
"Gotta Do" by Quentin Harris
"Fancy Footwork" by Chromeo
"Wolf Like Me" by TV on the Radio

I'll send a copy of the Threadless book to two random winners.

UPDATE: Speaking of music, Martin Brown just posted his top 100 of 2010 as four downloads.

73 comments:

  1. 1. Phantogram "Turn It Off"
    2. Caribou "Leave House"

(I don't know about recent, but they're both from 2010).

  2. Black Angels, the album is Passover, the single is "Sniper at the gates of heaven"

Black Mountain - The Hair Song

Arcade Fire's new album is top to bottom, awesome... Suburbs, Roccoco and Sprawl are all good tracks

Dead Weather - A Child Of A Few Hours Is Burning - it was debuted, I think, at Bonnaroo, but I don't know the album

Also, check out friends of mine:

Hank Becker's Rubber Knife Gang (Chasing Your Tail is a good track)

and Jack O'Neill of Jackopierce (Summer's Gone was their last single, last year, but I still love it)

  14. This is a fantastic idea for a contest--benefits you and the readers too!

Robyn is such a guilty pleasure. Agree with Dominic re: Arcade Fire's latest being aces from top to bottom.

    Ok, my entries are:
"We Don't Want Your Body" by Stars
    "Apply" by Glasser

    exactwords at gmail dot com

Wish we could all trade mix cds....

  15. "Too Much" and "Vesuvius" by Sufjan Stevens, from his incredible "Age of Adz" album

"Barbra Streisand" by Duck Sauce is an incredibly stoopid, impossibly catchy dance tune that I listen to at least once a day when I need a pick-me-up.

I make a year-end "best of" mix every year - these songs are included on it, along with a bunch of other stuff form the last 12 months. Contact me if you'd like me to give you a link to download it. It would be my pleasure to share it with you!
