Link roundup

1. Mark Millar: "my combined income for having the top ten downloads of 2010 is projected to be less I got for one issue of Superman Adventures twelve years ago." Via.

2. Do NOT look at these photos of Al Davis.

3. Nintendo's eye-destroying 3DS is going to be a ludicrous $250. (Plus another $40+ for a slightly reworked version of Ocarina of Time.)

  1. Yeah, that Al Davis horror show was on the front page of the SF Chronicle Sports section today. I was eating breakfast at the time.

I think he should just hire Christopher Lee to start playing him at public appearances and be done with it.

  2. Good God, when did Al Davis become a sith lord?

Also, I seriously can't wait for the 3DS, even though it costs as much as a PSP did when it was launched.

  3. I wish they'd get thoroughly burned and come to the conclusion that it's time to start creating new franchises.

  4. Yah I agree, Nintendo is a lot like Disney. They cling to their Walt Disney and his creations, or in this case Shigeru Miyamoto and there's a reason, Mickey sells better than Wall-e or Hunchback of Notre Dame and is timeless. So, they make experimental games (e.g. Mario Galaxy) and slap Mario in it just so people don't ignore it (a la Pikimin) and release traditional games (like Mario or Zelda).

I can't argue with their tactics, I mean when a main Zelda or Mario games gets a rating below 90% or fails to sell a bajillion copies, then they might want to rethink things. Seeing as the recent Metroid M, a deviation from tradition, was received like a turd in a blanket I think they will just steady the course. For the rest, well that's why I own a PS3, 360, and iPhone as well.
