Misery, photographed

From a listing at eBay:

We are selling 8 Beyblades, 2 of them light up. As you can tell they are not happy about this! They have been using their bathtub as a "battle arena" and Beyblades + Bathtub = Destruction!!! With the metal ones they managed to scrape the enamel off the tub, take a chunk of tub out and break off the soap holder. SO if you "win" this auction DON'T play with in a bathtub!!! We have recieved a quote of $500.00 to replace the tub, some tiles, and soap holder + labor of course! They had approxamently $125.67 in their piggy banks that will be going to toward the cost. We will use the profit from this auction towards the balance and then it is onto other toys!
Via.

(I feel more inclined to hug the boys than pity the parents.)

  1. Jeez - sounds like they had a really cheap bathtub to begin with. Sucks when kids doing kid things interferes with life. Seriously, this parent is pretty messed up: Humiliating your kids for a few bucks = Real classy and great role models. No wonder kids hate adults.

  2. Deserved or not, I'd skip the mother's and father's day homemade breakfasts this year....

  3. What did the kids learn? If someone does something you don't like, humiliate them on the internet.

  4. I'm sure the newly emergent "Tiger Moms" & their ilk think this is grand...

  6. Sure, sell the toys but do these parents understand the internet? That picture is going to haunt the crying kid for years.
Then again, some talk show might pick it up, get them on the show and pay for the bath. Maybe they do understand it after all

  7. There have been a few incidents such as this with the parents selling X toys on Ebay but I agree, taking a picture of their kid's misery is cruel. Is this the new age of parenting? No wonder I can't relate. I had no idea Beyblades were that destructive! I have this image of cluster bomb munitions spinning around.
