  1. Gévaudan is a popular legend in France.
    There were lots of French movies, and quite recently a good one made by Christophe Gans (director of Crying Freeman and the Silent Hill adaptation): "Le Pacte des loups" (translated "Brotherhood of the Wolf").

  2. I second that--Brotherhood of the Wolf is an excellent movie. Some very good acting, fantastic action scenes, and lush cinematography. The only flaw (for me) is the final battle scene, in which the special effects don't quite work for me. Very much worth seeing, though.
