It's actually not a new thing. I saw the exact same effect with the targets 2 or 3 years ago, using a Wii.
ReplyDeleteUnder the table must be some kind of detection device and the guy with the camera must have attached a Wii-like device to the camera he is filming with.
Ryu, he's probably just using the iPad's built-in camera to track the position of his face.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, 3D-via-head-tracking really only works when you have one eye closed.
@above: And let that for once put an end to the myth you neet both eyes for depth perception :D
ReplyDeleteIronically, the best 3d isn't 3d at all. The Augmented reality in the Nintendo 3DS blew me away more than anything actually 3d. If the iPad2 catches on and makes apps based off of it, it might me time for me to exchange my iPad1.
