1. Whale shark and swimmer.

2. Enrollment at for profit colleges is way down:

new University of Phoenix enrollment is down over 40 percent from last year, 47 percent from Kaplan.
3. Some guesses as to how Hugo Chávez will transport 211 tons of physical gold from Europe to Caracas.

  1. Enrollment at the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville is up 15%

  2. 3. This has elements of Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon.

  3. The for-profit schools are really a horrible scam, usually around 1 in 20 graduate, and of that 5% most can't pay back their student loans. The really crazy thing is that the faculty of these businesses often teach for multiple 'schools'. I know people who teach 50+ classes a year. (even at a community college the most you will teach is 12 per year)
