That's quite good! I'd like to watch that.
ReplyDelete... or this one: http://bit.ly/oElW4B ;D
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would make a serial animated lotr and remain true to canon. I want Glorfindel, Elladan and Elrohir, not to mention the Barrow Wight and Bombadil...
ReplyDeleteEvery deviation from canon is a dismal failure. every time i watch pj's lotr it becomes more apparent precisely how far off in some things he was - the extended edition scene where Aragorn murders The Mouth of Sauron really underscored for me the lack of understanding for Tolkien's entire premise coming from their interpretation. I still love the movies however, just disappointed at some of the choices made.
Well, Ralph Bakshi made an animated version of LOTR in 1978 - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077869/
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that it's just too much material for the movie medium. it needs to be serialized to make any sense. Look at the success of that format for Game of Thrones. Why anyone hasn't ever done that with lotr is beyond me. it's almost guaranteed to be wildly successful if done right.
