Cat food packaging

  1. I'd be curious what others' thoughts are as to how successful—visually—the sides of the cans are at differentiating Snookums from a generic, bottom-of-the-line brand? Perhaps most store-brand and generics now have some type of (usually) over-the-top visual branding, but I can remember only a few years ago finding ice cream at Meijer that was literally a plain white box with black, all-caps lettering that said "VANILLA ICE CREAM".

    I really like the campaign (the boxes do more for me than the cans, I really like the irreverence of the names and spunk of the taglines), and I really like the idea of doing something with the lids, but, to me, the cans and the lids feel not entirely connected—like two different identities got crossed together by way of committee, and I don't see this as standing out.

    And, for the record, I'm not saying I could do better—I'm just curious and questioning.
