Win a copy of Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land

UPDATE: Mike J won and should have received an email from me.

If you're looking for something more than a Canabalt clone for your iOS device, try tactical turn-based shooter Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land:

The game features nine 3D levels set in the trenches of World War One. The player controls a team of up to six investigators charged with uncovering a deadly inhuman conspiracy underlying the clash of empires of the Great War. Barbed wire, mustard gas and machines guns will prove to be the least dangerous thing that the investigators will encounter as they venture out into no-man’s land to solve the mystery of the Wasted Land. As the game progresses, the player can build up the skills, weapons and equipment of the team to suit their playing style. As well as the physical danger, the investigators must guard their sanity against the myriad horrors that threaten to destroy it.
Wired gave the game a glowing review. You can buy a copy at iTunes.

I also have one download to give away. For chance to win, simply comment on this post and include your email so I can contact you if you win. One entry per person. I'll pick a winner on Monday.

Where we rule now, they ruled then! Where we rule now, THEY SHALL RULE ONCE MORE! And from the dark, forgotten corners of the earth they shall emerge, unspeakable, unfathomable, abominations beyond shape or sanity, madness and hate and horror given awful flesh! The stars are right, oh god, I have seen it, THE STARS ARE RIGHT! They are coming! This war is not madness, our madness made this war! Their time is coming! The gate is opening! Yog-sothoth holds the gate! Yog-sothoth IS the Gate! All our weapons, all our battles, all our armies, it is all for them! To prepare their way! To wipe clean the slate of this world for those that shall come, have come, are coming from beyond it! Oh god, the things I have seen in dreams, oh how I hope they were dreams. Cyclopean pillars, stabbing skyward from ichor-slicked cities with choking fog and deep scars carved into the earth, claustrophobic trenches pulsing with non-euclidean geometry. And oh god, the voices! The VOICES! Phnglui mglwnafh Cthulhu Rlyeh wgahnagl Ftagn! Ia! IA!

  11. Everyone additional Cthulhu title made available on any platform whatsoever (iOS, NeoGeo, Bookshelves, Christmas Lists, Toast, etc.) enriches the world just a little bit. Unintentionally, it also enriches the lives of the world's current squa-- em, that is, "inhabitants". Squishy, inconsequentional, dimensionally-challenged "inhabitants". Cthulhu wants you to know that this makes him feel very, very warm and fuzzy inside.

And Ry'leh's a cold town to sleep alone, high priesthood to a aeons-dead god-race notwithstanding.

  15. Very nice! Lovecraft's creations have always been hard to realize (as films, as games, you name it), but this looks like it could be really good.

  18. If I win the free copy, my team will consist of Hemingway, Lord Byron, and Hunter S Thompson. Three men who would have tormented Lovecraft in high school and then would go off to fist fight bears while high on PCP.
