Thor 600

(This week I'll be reviewing comics I've bought from Comixology 99-cent sales over the last few months.)

I haven't cared about Thor since he had a beard and a broken arm, but I figured Thor #600 was such an oversized issue that it was worth 99 cents, and would be perfect for telling me if I should buy more issues. Turns out that it's only oversized because it reprints some old comics. At least the main story was long enough to convince me that I didn't need to buy any more Thor in the near future. On the bright side, the short backup story does feature art by the incredible David Aja. But the writing is almost a parody of Marvel's soap opera style:

  1. If you ever get the chance to read Straczynski's Thor series (When Thor officially came back into the current MU from the Avengers Disassembled Ragnarok) it's the only Thor I've ever really liked. They did a great all-ages series too called Thor the Mighty Avenger, that didn't last past something like 12 issues. Matt Fraction's Ages of Thunder collection were good as well.

  2. Really_Rather_Not_Nice, you need to read Simonson's run... that was really amazing
