Link roundup

1. When I first started blogging, I did annoying things like spamming Reddit and Digg thinking it might drive traffic to my site. I figured out within a day or two that it didn't work that way. After years of lurking, I finally created a new profile and submitted a few links today as an experiment. One of the three made it to the front page.

2. "In 2009, the U.S. drug war budget for Africa was $7.5 million. For 2010 and 2011, it was $50 million. Now, for 2013, it seems to be at least $60 million."

3. Nightmare fuel: The Silence of the Lambs.

4. The excellent Major Mayhem is now free at iTunes.
