Link roundup

1."Last month, [the United States Air Force] canceled a six-year-old modernization effort that had eaten up more than $1 billion. When the Air Force realized that it would cost another $1 billion just to achieve one-quarter of the capabilities originally planned — and that even then the system would not be fully ready before 2020 — it decided to decamp."

2.  Yesterday's Redskins hero Kirk Cousins "ran for -127 yards on 111 carries during his time at Michigan State."

3.  Geoff Trapp is a professional toy painter working at NECA (you'll see him credited on many NECA figures).  He painted and customized a vintage Masters of the Universe Snake Mountain playset, and it's now on sale at ebay.

4.  $50 off a Kindle Fire HD at Amazon today.  (Here's a review from The Verge.)  They're also selling a Panasonic 55-Inch Full HD 3D Plasma TV for $1200.

  1. Plasma is a trap with LCD tech so good now. A Plasma TV uses MULTIPLE TIMES the electricity for the same screen size as an LCD TV.
