Link roundup

1.  Grantland's NFL expert summarizes his 2012 preseason bets.  He lost money.

2.  Would you have guessed that 160 people work at Buzzfeed?

3.  Full list of the 2012 nominees for the Nebula Awards. (I've seen all the movies, read none of the novels.)

4.  Relatedly, the best thing I've read this month (I've started and put aside several books), and one of the best hard boiled thrillers I've ever read, is Jonathan Ames's You Were Never Really Here.  $2 for 49 pages at Amazon.  It reminded me of Drive.

  1. Just an FYI, the HBO show Bored to Death is based on Jonathan Ames, with Jason Swartzman staring as Ames. Canceled now but it was pretty great.

    1. Looking forward to seeing it some day, along with many other hbo shows

    2. In addition to the 3 seasons of the HBO show, Ames's Bored to Death is currently being developed as a full length feature film to companion the tv series.
