"Drake’s Publicity Stunt Brings Ice, Blowtorches and Headaches to Toronto"

NYT:
“Large numbers of individuals have gathered to attempt to melt the ice using flammable liquids and open flames in an uncontrolled environment, which results in an immediate threat to life,”
...
This was the second disruption in Toronto in less than a week connected to Drake’s album rollout.

Residents in a north Toronto neighborhood were rattled by a loud explosion in a park

Extremely strange coloring book: "What is a data center? A tale of the honey badger family"

Interesting choice to include so much evil imagery, including a devil hidden on each page (page 15/slide 17, for example).

Atlanta Hawks "to bring ‘Magic City’ strip club vibe to home game, but without the dancers"

NYTimes:
At first glance, the news may seem odd, but that’s most likely the purview of people who don’t know the club’s connection with just about all aspects of Atlanta’s modern cultural life. Atlanta has lots of strip clubs that have gained popularity and/or notoriety over the years...

In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down most of the world, then-Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams was granted permission to leave the NBA “bubble” at Disney World in Florida to attend the funeral of Paul Williams, a local businessman well known throughout Atlanta’s Black community, mentor to the three-time Sixth Man of the Year, and father of Williams’ best friend.

But after the service, Williams went to Magic City — not for a lap dance, but to get the club’s well-regarded lemon pepper wings.

When he returned to Orlando, under the NBA’s protocols, Williams had to quarantine for 10 days before being let back into the bubble.
It's a little misleading--the sweatshirt will be for sale. It's not a giveaway. But there is a special ticket pack:
Ticket pack includes access to special pregame live recording of the Hawks AF Podcast featuring a conversation about the 'Magic City: An American Fantasy’ documentary and impact of the club on Atlanta music, sports and culture. Podcast will feature Magic City founder Michael “Mr. Magic” Barney, legendary rapper and Atlanta’s own T.I., and moderated by comedian, actor, host, rapper D.C. Young Fly.

Plus! Ticket pack includes a discounted ticket to the game, $20 in food and beverage credit per ticket, and access to participate in post-game layups on the court.

*Hoodie not included in ticket package but can be purchased separately at www.hawksshop.com beginning on March 16th 2026.

Video game publisher says TikTok Is using GenAI to create misleading and sexualized ads for its games without permission

IGN:

The AI-"enhanced" versions, which appear on TikTok as if posted directly from the official Finji account

...

The offending image depicts an edited version of the official cover art, the original version of which is pictured above. In the seemingly AI-edited version, the main character June (center in the image above) is depicted alone, but the image extends down to her ankles. She is depicted with a bikini bottom, impossibly large hips and thighs, and boots that rise up over her knees

...

Finji also says it is unable to view or edit the AI-generated versions of its own ads, and is only aware of them via numerous comments on the ads as well as users in its official Discord reporting the problem and sharing screenshots

...

Since this incident took place, Finji staff have made efforts to follow up and get answers, only to be shut down by TikTok support repeatedly

Here's what TikTok has been doing to our work & art without our consent.

Posting this here for reasons πŸ˜’ If you happen to see any Finji ads that look distinctly UN-Finji-like, send me a screencap. If you are someone who writes intelligently about something like "massive company running ai versions of paid ads without small company's consent" idk, maybe reach out.

About that supposedly AI-generated Cruise vs. Pitt fight video

FWIW:

Being the enthusiastic fact checker I hopped over to Seedance’s website and it only took 10 seconds to find green screen footage of two stuntmen performing the same fight choreography we see in the Cruise vs Pitt scene. Seedance had used the green screen footage for a different demo

...

So the ball is in your court Seedance .... Was the input really just a 2 line prompt or was it actually 2 lines, green screen video footage, and face references too? The evidence appears to show that stuntmen were filmed from several angles, that a clip had to be generated for every angle, and then finally all clips were stitched together for marketing.

She's expressing deep regret for the advertisement

Not sure what she's claiming she thought the ad was for, but I guess she realized she has (or had) a unique brand for a ESPN personality, and is expressing regret:

Hey I posted about this on the other app but wanted to do so here, too. In short: I said yes without doing an ounce of vetting, and that's 100% on me. Thought it was just a normal marketing gig and I'm incredibly embarrassed about the whole thing. A colossal fuck-up on my part.
