Long post by a Redditor claiming to have worked at Galactic Starcruiser

By a person claiming to have been in the Disney College Program. Detailed and very negative about the way management operated, but also negative throughout in a way that indicates the person was unsuited for working at Disney.

Free download of the latest overview of larps

Here's the download. And here's a bit about it:

For the past 25 years, the Nordic Larp community has published a free journal of ideas and theories and debates. This year, I contributed an article viewing the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser through the lens of larp, and in particular, large-scale spectacular "blockbuster larps"!

While the Starcruiser wasn't perfect, I argue that much of the criticism surrounding the Starcruiser is incomplete and flawed. For example: - Disney's financial situation and shareholder battle in 2022-23 required it to raise lots of cash quickly - High official guest feedback scores

Reenacting the Narkina 5 prison escape on Disney's Galactic Starcruiser

Some impressive planning (the comments say that it was done after planned events ended for the night, and that they stayed fairly quiet for people sleeping). There should definitely be a similar scene in Andor season 2 featuring Mothma's husband throwing a Narkina-themed party to show how divorced the wealthy of the Empire are from the downtrodden:

@princessandscoundrel ONE WAY OUT - there were many after hours activities that the passengers on the “Galactic StarCREWser 2023: Ultimate Fan Voyage” organized but one that we personally (@princessandscoundrelshow and @thedanochannel) organized was a little Narkina 5 jumpsuit photo op in the atrium. Little did we know it would evolve to so many people getting involved and going all out! We even had a passenger adapt “I can’t swim” to “I can’t go down the stairs”. #maythefourthbewithyou #starcrewser #starwars #starwarshotel #starcruiser #galacticstarcruiser #halcyon🐰✨ ♬ original sound - Princess & Scoundrel

Kudos, I guess, for not giving her special treatment?

Although I suppose pretty much anyone attending Starcruiser this early is influential in some way. A sampling:

Disney Starcruiser advertisement promises you can live out your gestapo fantasy

(Far as I can tell, this is indeed real.)

Here's one video of guests helping the First Order:

"The most striking moment [during my Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser stay] is when I stand with that rock in my hand"

From a long, glowing review by a "lifelong fan of games and role-playing games" for the LATimes:

“Tell me, Todd,” says a woman who introduces herself as Saja Mi’Lam, “what do you do to stay centered?”

...

I acknowledge to Mi’Lam, who is a Galactic Starcruiser actor, the challenges I face in staying mindful and empathetic in stressful situations. Then she tells me to pick a rock — or, rather, to let a rock choose me. There is no spa or relaxation center aboard the Galactic Starcruiser, yet I stand, arms outstretched, matching Mi’Lam in a series of extended breathing exercises. I find a bit of calm.

...

The most striking moment is when I stand with that rock in my hand. Mi’Lam instructs me to place my rock onto a larger one, to shut my eyes and hold out my hand.

Although I see some sleight-of-hand movement from Mi’Lam, I imagine that what’s about to happen is real, and not magnetic magic tricks. I stand tall, arm firmly pointed at my stone, and then I watch.

The rock slowly, magically, makes its way toward me. Then it jerks and shoots vigorously in my direction, knocking all other rocks in its vicinity to the ground.

...

There are characters I never interacted with, and a supposedly show-stopping intimate Force ghost scene involving Yoda is one I didn’t see. Yet I had so much on my agenda that I never truly felt like I missed something.

I assume 3:30 is what he's referring to (but honestly, the fan with the scarf and headdress has such a compelling look that it draws my eye):

The first wave of media reviews for Disney's Starcruiser experience can't agree on whether the rooms are cramped or spacious

The Verge:

The rooms I saw were pretty compact, too. There’s space for a bed, a slide-out table, and enclosed bunk beds built into one of the walls. It looks to have leaned too far into emulating the space-sensitive designs of an actual cruise ship. I’ve never stayed in a $2,000-per-night hotel room, but I would expect a lot more than this.

CNBC:

The rooms are spacious

CNN:

For cabins capable of hosting four, they've included older Star Wars era-inspired bunkbeds and a bed that pulls out from the wall -- but it will still be a tight squeeze unless you upgrade to the larger Galaxy Class Suite or Grand Captain Suite.

BTW:

Pricing for the fancier Galaxy Class Suite (which can accommodate four people) and Grand Captain Suite (which can fit up to eight) isn't immediately available on the website. Disney declined to comment further on those prices.
