I enjoyed the ridiculous and food-centric crime thriller short story "Mata Hambre" by Raquel V. Reyes

Not available online from what I saw, I read it in "The Best American Mystery and Suspense 2022." She's also written a series of cozy mysteries featuring a cooking show star. The third novel is called "Barbacoa, Bomba, and Betrayal."
