Renaissance-era knives with musical scores engraved on them

A Renaissance-era notation knife is exactly what it sounds like: it’s got an ivory handle and an extra-wide steel blade with a musical score engraved on it.

Thanks to some heavy sleuthing on the part of another curator at the V&A, Flora Dennis, many of the melodies from the existing knives have been salvaged. You can hear several versions of the benediction and grace sung by the Royal College of Music.
