Remarkable photos and video from the protest against coal mining in Germany

DW from a few days ago:
Activists began occupying the village of Lützerath two years ago. Its fate has been intimately connected to the debate over Germany's plan to stop burning coal.
Climate activists occupying the abandoned German village of Lützerath to prevent the expansion of a nearby open-pit coal mine jumped into action on Monday as police began preparations to clear the village.
Activists threw fireworks, bottles and stones at police outside the village of Luetzerath before the situation calmed down and officers pulled back
The village is to be demolished to expand the Garzweiler lignite mine

Speaking of coal protests, from last month:
Protesters angered by allegations of corruption linked to Mongolia’s coal trade with China tried to force their way into the State Palace in the capital, demanding dismissals of officials involved in the scandal.
