Basically a promotion for his upcoming "Brzrkr" novel written in collaboration with Keanu Reeves, but it does explain his recent, relative silence:
He acknowledged that his silence over the past decade had been due to a deep depression, really as hard as they come, one that resulted in him not being sure he wanted to live. He had been depressed, he thinks, at least since his mother died, when he was 34. He realized how fully he was suffering after his 40th birthday.
