The most annoying kind of writing to me is when someone is clearly mad at a specific person in their life but they talk about a "worrisome societal trend of young women asking you to take off your shoes inside the house and then shaming your athletic socks" instead of just talking to Janice

You know how everyone always complains about therapy speak but I think this is more like thinkpiece speak where instead of "every time I talk to my kids we end up fighting" it's "we need to take a hard look at how phones and video games have made the younger generation fragile to criticism"
