I did a similar thing with a Spore Druid that had two different mushrooms growing on his shoulders, 1 was nervous all the time & 1 was super angry all the time. The DM would text me what they said & I just would argue out loud. The players thought it was all me till game 5.

The DM loved it so much they gave each one a specific feat, the nervous one gave HIGH passive perception checks and the angry one would give +2 to my attack rolls & damage if I did what they suggested.

@denisbloodnok and I are currently playing a joint character where he is an impetuous warlock and I'm the demon living in their head. Whoever moves/reacts first gets to pick what we do. (I'm becoming a bit more autonomous but we still have to negotiate over spell slots &c.)
