Newly-disclosed memo indicates San Jose State University's president was warned about sex abuse claims and took no direct action for years

A newly disclosed, long-secret memo reveals how [San Jose State University's President] received a dire warning in 2016 when she arrived at San Jose State University to begin her tenure as president: “there was inappropriate handling, touching of female athletes by the director of sports medicine, who is still here!”

Despite the disturbing message from her predecessor, [she] took no direct action for another three years to root out [a trainer's] sexual abuse of more than a dozen female athletes in an explosive scandal that would ultimately lead to her downfall last year.
