My current favorite iOS game is Kaiju Attack

It's a no frills $2.99 turn-based tactical match three where you build increasingly sophisticated buildings, citizens, and weapons to fight off kaiju. FYI, you move pieces by swapping (not sliding) tiles, and the tiles you swap don't have to be adjacent. Great iOS icon, too.
