A look at "Sue Bird, the Greatest Team Leader in Sports"

From a 2018 WSJ profile of Sue Bird, whose team just won the WNBA title:

Suzanne Brigit Bird’s leadership education began in 1999 when her coach at UConn, Geno Auriemma, summoned the shy sophomore point guard to his office before her sophomore season. It wasn’t a long talk—it lasted only five minutes.

“I don’t care if so-and-so makes a bad pass, it’s your fault,” he told her. “I don’t care if so-and-so doesn’t run a play right, that means you didn’t run the play right.”

...

“My ego demands—for myself—the success of my team.”
