Joseph Deng Thon, the 17 yo, 6’7” RHP whom the Dodgers signed out of South Sudan, made his pro debut in the DSL today, tossing a scoreless inning. Weighing in at 185 lbs and already hitting 97, he’ll be an interesting one to follow for sure.

And what with a South Sudanese kid joining the DSL squad, it’s a good time to point out that the Dodger team chefs there make cuisine from the countries their players come from, to help bridge gaps, & to spice up meal times. An indigenous Taiwanese kid in 24, and South Sudanese in 25, just awesome.
