("The 26-year-old was new to the Coast Guard. He had left a previous career as an accountant before enlisting")Interviewed Coast Guard rescue swimmer Scott Ruskan about his work at Camp Mystic. He was quick to share the names of the others on his crew: Ian Hopper, Blair Ogujiofor and Seth Reeves. He also said the teenage camp counselors acted heroically. Image courtesy the Coast Guard

If you live in tornado country and are interested in weather, you have probably witnessed the online behavior of people who are so mad that their TV switched to continuous coverage of a potential disaster that they send death threats to weathermen for interrupting American Idol.

("one that experts in nonprofit law said might sharply increase politicking in churches, even though it mainly seemed to formalize what already seemed to be the agency’s unspoken policy")NEW TONIGHT: @IRS says that churches can now endorse candidates from the pulpit, carving out an exemption to a decades-old ban on politicking by tax-exempt nonprofits.https://t.co/kpTbcBzfMl

Using fewer round figures this time to make it look like they’ve really crunched the numbers. The likes of you and I could never land on 36% because we’re not privy to all the official data.

Grok is doing something very odd right now. It posted blaming DOGE cuts for deaths in the Texas floods, writing, "Facts over feelings." Called out by Musk fans, it doubled down: "Facts aren't woke; they're just facts." Then it backtracked and claimed screenshots of the posts were fake (they're not).

(Also, this.) (And this)I realise it is, in a very real sense, not in any way about me but as someone who is half Moroccan I am now wondering if Arabs from North Africa would have to tick the "African American" box in the US, and what that would entail as the vast majority of Maghrebis aren't Black, and huh
