TTRPG designed to look like the brochure for a senior citizen retirement home

Green Oaks:

Green Oaks is a beautiful structure surrounded by nature, where those who have reached the winter of their lives can indulge in a variety of recreational activities, cultivate new friendships, and rely upon the expertise of nursing personnel of the highest order.

There are rumors that great treasures are hidden away in the basement of Green Oaks, but some believe the entire structure to be nothing less than an alien base for conducting experiments on Seniors.

Luckily for them, all of the establishment’s residents have a peculiar past, which may very well be the key to surviving what transpires within the walls of Green Oaks.

Thanks to the innovative ArterioscleroSys system it has never been easier to play the role of a Senior.

Various pics.

Good essay about roleplaying effectively as a "loner" character, and appreciating Han Solo's behavior in A New Hope

Why Han Solo Was An Amazing TTRPG Player And TTRPG Players Of Han Solo Characters Mostly Aren’t:

The fundamental mistake that a wannabe Han Solo player makes is thinking that it’s other players’ job to convince them they should play – when it’s in fact, by choosing to play an awkward character, it’s your job to work out why you remain in the game and go along with what’s happening.

Evil RPG dungeon design

as a jrpg fan, my primary interests in video games are raising and lowering sewer gates, such as to manipulate the water level

— headfallsoff (@headfallsoff.com) March 11, 2026 at 8:03 AM

i gave my ttrpg players a water temple once and penciled in the waterline above the inked map. there was no mechanism through which to change the water level. drove them insane, as i recall

there were like ten different levers and pressure plates in the dungeon lmao

Free WH40K Sororitas-themed TTRPG

I enjoyed the writing on this. And speaking of WH40K:

To get the vibe of 40k imagine this guy is aiming at an orphan guilty of wrong!think while travelling on a spaceship achieving ftl by taking a detour through hell.

Some great art in the quickstart guide for the Fomoria TTRPG

It's been so long since I drew this. The first concept for Fomoria's intro. Just sketches and loose ideas. It has certainly evolved a lot since then. Follow Fomoria's Kickstarter and grab the free quickstart + adventure 👉 fomoria.com #fomoria #ttrpg

Good write-up of a Conan RPG campaign by Kieron Gillen and Jim Rossignol

From their newish blog, evaluating the Conan RPG rules, discussing the clever ways their GM manipulated the campaign, and offering general suggestions on how to review a TTRPG:

It’s not a straight hit-points-to-death system. If you go over a threshold in a single blow, you do an injury. If someone would go beneath zero, it’s an injury. There’s probably some more in there – but it’s number of injuries which lead to death. Oh – and to finish off my one-man-blender, this is where I spend a momentum to add an extra injury whenever I do an injury. So when I’m at all cooking, I’m doing 3 injuries whenever I attack, which kills most people.

What I’m saying, I really did feel like Conan.

(And speaking of TTRPGS, the massive TTRPG Humble Bundle is still available.) (Warhammer, Cyberpunk, G.I. Joe, etc, etc)

Kieron Gillen created an AI-cursed expansion for the Die RPG

The inspiration:

a friend of mine shared this ai-generated "emotion wheel" and unfortunately i have been laughing my ass off at it for like 15 minutes now. today i am feeling Fnliinneon

Free rules supplement for incorporating the wheel in a game:

I have been bombarded by people saying that this should be the next DIE RPG expansion for our Emotion Knight class. You're welcome. Full 4-page PDF on the site. I'll include the images in the next post in this thread. #ttrpg #dierpg

Kieron Gillen posted a pay what you want game zine

My new game zine! HOW DO ALIENS DO "IT"? is a game about confused teenage aliens trying to work out what their information-scarce society isn't telling them. It's playful, but approaches big themes lightly. It's pay what you like, but do pay nowt. #ttrpg kierongillen.itch.io/how-do-alien...

FYI I'm participating in a RPG prison break run by Alfred Valley on Bluesky if you'd like to follow along

Lord help me, I've had an idea To coincide with Zine Month in February I want to run the #VALLEY100 – a 100 person gauntlet that will take place entirely on Bluesky over 10 days. Each player will be given a character and simple instructions, and can win prizes depending on how far they get.

My assigned character and character portrait (I got to name her) if you'd like to follow along and support when the opportunity arises (starting on February 4, I believe):

The "Replay" podcast is a terrific playthrough of the RPG "Die"

Die seems so absurdly demanding of creativity from its players, but this is a wonderful, funny playthrough (I have two episodes left). Even the "Prelude" where they design their characters is entertaining.

Good podcast series about people playing the RPG "Die"

Such a seemingly intimidating game that demands a lot of character creation effort, but these players are skilled, and the pods are edited to cut down on empty space. (I've only listened to ther first 1.5 episodes.)

The game-breaking joys of playing Baldur's Gate 3 as a barrelmancer

RPS:

As the name suggests, it's all about doing mildly game-breaking things with barrels, crates and other heavy containers, by taking advantage of high strength, the Throw command, and the fact that Larian RPG characters can somehow fit items as big as they are into their inventories

...

Imagine, if you will, living in a world where barrel-shaped neutron stars appear out of thin air to smash all your mates to atoms.
